Rediscovering rare wines and old vintages in Burgundy: the rebirth of Maison Charles Noëllat
Maison Charles Noëllat is above all a story of tradition and friendship. That of the heir to the Charles Noëllat estate, Stéphane, and Antoine, a wine merchant. In the personalities of each of them lies a love and knowledge of the Burgundy wine terroir. They happily explore the cellars that house exceptional old wines, veritable treasures from the painstaking work of the vine. Together, they are the driving force behind the revival of Maison Charles Noëllat, unearthing old vintages and rare Burgundy wines in two ranges: Maison and Hommage.
The MAISON range, old Burgundy vintages ready to drink
Our collection of old vintages from the work of Charles Noëllat and his descendants varies from year to year, depending on the nuggets we come across at the various estates we visit. Our way of working is totally atypical: we are "seekers of originality", and proud of it!
Our passion for unearthing THE rare wine of Burgundy, for finding ourselves in a cellar to uncork a bottle that thrills our senses, for experimenting with special tastings to give you access to these treasures with their characteristic aromas, to a singular cuvée: this is the raison d'être of Maison Charles Noëllat today.
In this MAISON range you will find prestigious appellations from all over Burgundy, from regional to grand cru:
- Côte Chalonnaise ;
- Côtes de Beaune ;
- Côtes de Nuits ;
- Chablisien.
As we make our discoveries, we unearth old vintages, as well as mature wines, most of which are 2 to 7 years old. When it came to choosing between red and white wines, we couldn't make up our minds, as these marvels were sometimes garnet-red, sometimes golden...
How did the HOMAGE Charles Noëllat collection come about?
After several years spent reviving Charles Noëllat's prestigious signature through our Maison range and its selection of great wines from Burgundy estates, we felt the need to express in a more personal way our respect for the work accomplished by Laure and Charles. Our idea to pay tribute to the men and women who succeeded them at the head of the Vosne-Romanée wine estate until 1988 took shape with this extraordinary collection of rare Burgundy wines.
This desire naturally led us to launch the new HOMMAGE range.
RARES DE BOURGOGNE wines from the HOMMAGE range
It's a selection of wines that each year includes only the prestigious historic appellations of Domaine Charles Noëllat. In keeping with the spirit of our company, this selection of grands crus is made from the finest estates in the Côtes de Nuits. Ageing and bottling take place in our own cellars in Bligny-lès-Beaune.
As a nod to history, we have launched this HOMMAGE range with the 2018 vintage, precisely 30 years after the last wines produced at the Vosne-Romanée estate by the heirs of Charles Noëllat. The aim here is to offer the estate's historic appellations: villages, 1er Cru, Grands Crus...
